Even if a person is inactive or at rest, he or she will still burn calories. This is because energy is needed to perform these essential functions. Some people lose weight faster than others because they have a faster metabolism or higher BMR.

Some people are very conscious with the amount of calories in the food that they eat. Calories are needed by our body to be able to perform its functions. It only becomes bad when taken in too much while living an inactive lifestyle. If a person does not have a lot of physical activity, the calories that they consumed will not be burned but stored as fat deposits. To lose weight, we should burn 3,500 calories more than we eat.
